    Ancestor Map

    Since the 1841 Census from the UK became available online recently in its entirety, I have done some more work on tracing my ancestors. In a fit of technological dabbling, I created a custom Google Map where each flag represents a known location of one of my direct ancestors, which each colour being a different generation (red = +1, blue=+2, brown=+3, green=+4, yellow=+5, pink=+6).

    Welcome to visitors from Mapbuilder.net and genealogytechpodcast.com! One thing I didn't mention about how I made the interactive map is how I got the locations. I obtained the exact latitude and longitude coordinates for addresses from UK census returns by using http://www.multimap.com, as the Mapbuilder.net software only allows search for US addresses!
